I know it's been a month since I posted anything new and I haven't been motivated to write part 2 of What's the Difference Between SEO and SEM.
I've been thinking about a way to have Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 on my computer to check compatibility of websites. I decided to look it up and found lifehacker.com had a pretty good article explaining it. I just wanted to be able to view both Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 without any additional downloads and create separate profiles to keep my updated addons. Here's my process:
- Install Firefox 2 at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
- Select Custom on setup type

- Create a separate folder for it called Firefox 2 in your Program Files directory

- After installation is complete, rename your desktop icons to Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 to not confuse them with each other

- Close out all Firefox browser windows
- Type the following into Run: firefox.exe -ProfileManager

- You should see the Profile Manager for Firefox

- Create a new profile and name it accordingly. Uncheck “Work offline” and “Don’t ask at startup”
- That’s it. When you open Firefox 2 from your desktop you will be asked to select a user. Choose the profile for Firefox 2. Creating different profiles for Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 is important to keep your addons, and other settings from being downgraded and upgraded each time you open the browsers. To use Firefox 3, close Firefox 2 and open Firefox 3 from your desktop. Choose the user for Firefox 3.
Now you can run Firefox 2 and 3 on your computer, but not at the same time.
